We highly recommend you float once a week for at least 3 weeks, if you can’t float once a week try floating twice a month and make your mind up after 3 floats if floatation therapy is benefitting your life like it has ours. Nope. Some people fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant you stay afloat. The 10 inches of water in the float tank is very dense thanks to over 500 kilograms of Epsom salt. It is extremely buoyant and will support your body completely. Turning over in the tank is very difficult, but if you should manage it, the salt in the water would sting your eyes and wake you immediately.
People with claustrophobia consistently report no problems with floating, even in smaller sized float tanks. You are in complete control of the environment. Pregnant woman probably get more relief from floating than most people. The extra weight carried by the mother-to-be can be very stressful due to the forces of gravity. Floating eliminates the negative effects of gravity which can cause joint pain, inflammation, and stress on the organs as well as the unborn baby. We recommend expectant mums to not float until after the 1st trimester of pregnancy, and any risky pregnancy or medical history should always be checked and permission sought from their GP or specialist.
Floating in salt water and fresh tattoos do not mix! Not only could floating with a fresh tattoo be painful but the salt water solution could cause fading or discoloration of your tattoo and permanently ruin its aesthetic appeal. How long you should wait before floating depends on the tattoo and how quickly it heals, we recommend holding off scheduling your float until your tattoo artist says that it’s all right to do so, as a rule of thumb we suggest waiting at least 4-6 weeks.
